FAQ
What Shopify merchants ask before getting started
Do I need theme code changes?
No. Buust uses the official Shopify Files API and embeds the video as product media — that's theme-agnostic. If you want a full theme app extension (phase 2), we'll build it on request.
What permissions does the app need?
Buust requests only the scopes needed for video creation, auto-publishing and conversion tracking: read_products / write_products (read products + images, attach video media to the product page), read_files / write_files (upload and manage videos), read_themes (read-only, for the theme app extension), read_inventory (only suggest available products), write_pixels (install the Buust pixel automatically), plus read_orders and read_customer_events (for measuring conversion uplift). Order and customer data are only read, never changed.
What happens to my products if I uninstall?
We don't change your products. On uninstall everything stays as it was — Buust only deletes the app's own data in line with GDPR. Video files already uploaded can stay in use in Shopify or be removed by you.
How fast is the first sync?
For < 1,000 products, usually under 2 minutes. For larger catalogs the initial import runs in batches in the background — you can start working with the first products right away.
Can I review videos before publishing?
Yes, always. Approval grid with a preview for every single video. Re-rendering with a different template is one click. We publish nothing without your explicit approval.
Does it work with Shopify Plus too?
Yes. Buust runs on all Shopify plans (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, Plus). Multi-store support for Shopify Plus is in the works.
